India reported 128 new coronavirus infections in a single day, with the total number of active cases rising to 1,792, according to the latest data from the Union health ministry updated on Saturday.
The death toll climbed to 5,30,745, with four deaths reported by Kerala, according to the data updated at 8 am. The total tally of Covid cases in the country now stands at 4.46 crore (4,46,83,250).
Positivity Rates and Recovery
The daily positivity rate stands at 0.09 percent, while the weekly positivity rate is recorded at 0.07 percent, as per the health ministry’s report.
Active cases constitute only 0.01 percent of the total infections, reflecting a relatively low prevalence of the virus. Meanwhile, the national Covid recovery rate has risen to 98.81 percent, indicating a high rate of recovery among infected individuals.
Vaccination Progress
The number of individuals who have recovered from Covid has reached 4,41,50,713, while the case fatality rate remains at 1.19 percent, according to the ministry’s data. India continues its robust vaccination campaign, with 220.56 crore doses of Covid vaccine administered across the country thus far.
