India recorded 3,824 new Covid cases in the past 24 hours, marking a 27 percent increase from the previous day, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Affairs on Sunday.
Active Cases and Testing
The active cases have now risen to 18,389, with 1,33,153 tests conducted to detect the virus. The daily positivity rate stands at 2.87 percent, while the weekly positivity rate is 2.24 percent. Active cases account for 0.04 percent of the total infections, with the recovery rate currently at 98.77 percent. In the last 24 hours, 1,784 recoveries have been reported, increasing the total recoveries to 4,41,73,335.
Vaccination Drive
Since the onset of the Covid pandemic, 220.66 crore vaccine doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive, including 95.21 crore second doses and 22.86 crore precaution doses. In the last 24 hours, 2,799 doses were administered.
Covid Situation in Delhi
The national capital, Delhi, reported 416 new Covid infections in the last 24 hours, as per the Delhi government health bulletin. One Covid-19 related death was also reported in the same time span. The city’s positivity rate has risen to 14.37 percent. Currently, there are 1,216 active cases, out of which 716 patients are being treated in home isolation. With 144 patients recovering in the last 24 hours, the total number of recoveries has reached 19,82,567. Delhi’s total caseload stands at 20,10,312, and the death toll in the city has risen to 26,529.
Vaccination Data in Delhi
According to the Delhi government health bulletin, the total number of cumulative beneficiaries vaccinated so far is 3,74,05,091.
