Nestled in the picturesque city of Hiroshima, Japan, the Ribbon Chapel stands as a symbol of love and unity, offering a breathtaking backdrop for weddings against the backdrop of the Inland Sea.

Architectural Harmony

Designed by Hiroshi Nakamura & NAP Architects, the Ribbon Chapel is a testament to innovative design and structural ingenuity. Situated midway on a hill, the chapel boasts panoramic views that set the stage for unforgettable ceremonies.

Spiraling Symbolism

At the heart of the Ribbon Chapel’s design is the intertwining of two spiral stairways, a metaphor for the journey of marriage. Recognizing the inherent instability of a single spiral, the architects ingeniously joined two spirals to create a free-standing structure that embodies strength and stability.

Seamless Connection

As the spirals ascend, they gracefully converge at a height of 15.4 meters, forming a single ribbon that symbolizes the union of two lives. At the apex of this union lies the chapel, where loved ones gather to witness the union of the bride and groom. The chapel’s aisle, oriented towards a majestic symbol tree, creates a natural focal point, while the altar offers a serene backdrop against the backdrop of the ocean.

A Tribute to Support

Surrounding the chapel, 80 seats are strategically positioned to provide guests with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, fostering a sense of connection with nature and the ceremony unfolding before them.

Embracing Nature

Throughout the design, the architects pay homage to the natural surroundings, integrating the existing symbol tree into the ceremony space and allowing guests to bask in the beauty of the ocean through the surrounding foliage.

A Testament to Love

In every detail, the Ribbon Chapel exudes elegance and grace, serving as a testament to the enduring bond between two individuals. With its innovative design and symbolic resonance, it stands as a beacon of hope and love for couples embarking on the journey of marriage.
