Truecaller's Latest Updates for Android Users

Truecaller has recently unveiled a series of updates for its Android platform, bringing forth a mix of new features and expanded functionalities. These updates come in the wake of Truecaller’s milestone achievement of reaching 300 million monthly active users globally, with a significant portion of 220 million users hailing from India alone. Since its inception in 2009, Truecaller has evolved from a simple caller ID app to a comprehensive solution for call management, spam blocking, and contact discovery.

Video Caller ID

Among the notable additions is the introduction of video caller ID, allowing users to create personalized video caller IDs that are displayed when making calls to contacts also using the Truecaller app. Users have the option to record a brief selfie video or select from pre-existing templates provided by Truecaller. However, the video caller ID feature is limited to contacts who are registered on Truecaller.

Call Recording

Truecaller has extended its call recording feature to all Android users. Previously available only to paid subscribers, call recording can now be accessed by all users directly within the app. Users can activate this feature by navigating to Settings > Accessibility and tapping the record button displayed on the caller ID screen during incoming or outgoing calls.

Announce Your Calls

An exclusive feature for Truecaller Premium and Gold subscribers, “Announce Your Calls” verbally notifies users of incoming calls, providing convenience in situations where accessing the phone may be challenging. This feature resembles Siri’s call announcement functionality on iPhones.

Ghost Calls

Truecaller Premium users gain access to the “Ghost Calls” feature, enabling them to schedule fake calls in advance to gracefully exit undesirable situations. Users can customize various details of the fake caller, including name, number, and profile picture, and even select a contact from their list for the fake call.

New UI

Truecaller has also introduced a minor update to its user interface, separating the calls and messages tabs to enhance user experience. This change, prompted by user feedback, streamlines navigation within the Truecaller app, providing a cleaner and more intuitive interface for managing calls and messages.

Truecaller’s latest updates aim to enrich the user experience, offering a range of functionalities to enhance call management, personalization, and convenience for Android users.
